Tropico 6 bug fix mod3/9/2024 I like to use the Free Wheels edict because it greatly speeds up the movement of people to their workplaces, but as things stand right now it leads to half of my population getting stuck in these damn garages and never working at all. For those who don't know, citizens can get stuck at parking garages if the traffic in and out of it is too heavy. I've seen references to it dating back to almost a year ago and I thought that something as game breaking as this would have been fixed long ago- but it hasn't. The second bug is the infamous car garage bug. It's hopelessly broken right now and thus no fun to play as a military dictator. Frankly I think the entire military aspect in Tropico 6 badly needs an overhaul. Unless Tropico 6's developers intended the military to be fully incapable of engaging these guerrillas terrorists, this is a bug. A couple of tanks and half a dozen infantry squads chased them all around downtown for 5 minutes without firing one shot. In a hilariously sad turn of events, at one point I had three units of terrorists parading in front of my palace after firebombing a hospital, someone's house, and a restaurant. Where the bug comes in, though, is that on very rare occasions my soldiers actually do respond in time to reach the terrorists before they teleport away, but I've not once seen them actually engage those terrorists. I consider this to be a broken anti-feature. The guerrillas have become eco-terrorists: They appear, burn down a nuclear power plant (nuclear disasters are great for the environment, I hear), a hospital, and a high school, and then disappear using their high-tech teleporters before my incompetent soldiers can do a thing about it. Unlike in Tropico 1, Tropico 6's military has proven completely inept at preventing guerrilla raids. I tried every known way of combating guerrilla presence, including a religious minister of the interior, detente, and so on. Citizens became guerrillas by the dozens. Finally, full scale rebellions began appearing and I was forced to bring a military presence to Tropico by installing barracks and army bases around my palace. Guerrillas began to pop up and vandalize my buildings, which I tried to address with watchtowers. This did not fix the issue, and I suspect it only made it worse. I tried to deal with the initial rebel sympathizers by setting up checkpoints to root them out at the exit from every bridge. Needless to say, my economy really took a hit there and rebels soon began appearing. The annoying environmentalist demands had to go by the wayside because I wasn't willing to completely destroy my economy for "muh nature" and they responded by shutting down the entire island with protests- for a year. I had a playthrough where, due to an economic downturn due to overexpansion, I was unable to keep up with happiness demands for several years. The first bug is the confusion of military units chasing after guerrilla squads. However, I've run into two bugs/anti-features which really break features which are very important to gameplay. I got Tropico 6 to keep myself sane through this pandemic related lockdown and I've enjoyed it immensely.
